A Jefferson man has been sentenced for a sex act against his sister.

According to court documents, District Court Judge Joseph McCarville accepted the plea agreement for 21-year-old Noah Exline, who pled guilty to an amended charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for indecent contact with a child. As per his plea deal, Exline had his two-year prison sentence suspended and will be placed on probation with the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years.

Exline was originally charged with seven Class B Felonies for second degree sexual abuse. His sister Paige was one of the two victims who died in a house fire in Guthrie Center in May of 2017. Exline’s father, James Exline, was found guilty on June 6, 2018 by a jury in Bremer County of two felonies for sexually abusing Paige and was sentenced to 75 years in prison. Noah’s step-brother, Patrick Thompson, was found guilty of murdering Paige and her cousin Shakiah Cockerham in October of 2018 and is serving two life in prison sentences.

Noah must also register as a sex offender and pay over $2,000 in fines, court costs, court-appointed attorney fees, surcharges and civil penalties.
