The Perry Public Library is observing a national holiday this weekend, and they invite families to take part in Take Your Child to the Library Day.
The observance will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Library Director Mary Murphy says the event promotes the development of good reading habits in childhood, while also encouraging families to make library visits a regular habit. The celebration will include balloon animals and face-painting, and each child will take home a free book. Additionally, there will be several local organizations in attendance who will have information about children’s programs and services in Dallas County.
Murphy also reminds people it will be a great opportunity for kids to get their own library card. Take Your Child to the Library Day is free to attend and no registration is required. For more information, stop in or call the Perry Library at 515-465-3569.
