After two straight nights of weather related postponements, the Greene County and Southeast Valley (Gowrie) boys’ basketball teams will try again tonight to get a Class 2A first round District 12 game played at Ogden. The contest is set for 6:30 p.m. with coverage on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com to begin at 6 p.m.
Coach Chris Nelson’s Jaguars are 7-15 while SEV is 7-14. The Rams have dropped nine of their last 11 games while the Jaguars have lost four of their last five.
Greene County is led in scoring by its only senior, Trey Hinote. He’s averaging 21 points per game and has 1,315 for his varsity career. SEV lost its leading scoring, Aaron Graves, to injury about two-thirds of the way into the season and he’s not expected to return this season after averaging 18.5 per game as a freshman.
The winner plays tomorrow night in Rockwell City vs. 20-1 South Central Calhoun, the top seed in the district.
