The Guthrie County Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
The meeting began with department updates from County Conservation Director Joe Hanner and Transfer Station Director Jotham Arber. Arber said the snow and cold has been good for the Transfer Station in terms of a decreased need for hauling material, though he says he may have to ask for a budget amendment for hauling costs. Next, Krista Downing and Mollie Clark of Guthrie County Extension introduced themselves to the Board and updated them on the projects and programs Extension has hosted in the past year. Finally, the Board discussed the fiscal year 2020 budget as well as a salary rate increase for City officials and health insurance increases for the next year. The Board tabled action on a salary increase until Thursday’s meeting, and they approved a 2% shift in liability insurance to County employees and a 7% overall insurance cost increase.
