Friday, February 8th
2:58am: An Officer assisted Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 400 block of East Washington Street.
9:26am: An officer completed a funeral escort as requested.
11:32am: Staff at the Greene County Middle School reported a possible theft of a Chromebook laptop.
3:35pm: Ashley Ratliff reported that her daughter was being harassed at school.
3:49pm: Gretta Halterman reported a violation of a No Contact Order at 708 West Harrison Street. An officer is investigating. While speaking with Gretta, the officer determined she had an active Arrest Warrant in her name for Fraud – False Application (Aggravated Misdemeanor) from the Iowa Department of Transportation. She was arrested and transported to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center.
8:14pm: Officers responded to 1409 North Elm Street for (2) possible intoxicated individuals.
8:31pm: An officer located an abandoned vehicle in the 300 block of West Stanford Street. It was determined the vehicle was having mechanical issues and arrangements were being made by the owner to remove it.
10:11pm: An officer assisted a stranded motorist at the intersection of North Elm Street and Highway 30.
Saturday, February 9th
2:21am: While on routine patrol an officer located a male subject urinating on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Wild Rose Casino (777 Wild Rose Lane). The male appeared to be intoxicated. It was also determined the male had driven to the casino with a Barred Driver’s License. Also located on him was a plastic baggy containing one pill believed to be ecstasy. As a result, James Merrell Mosley (46) of Fort Dodge was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance – 1st Offense – Serious Misdemeanor and Driving While License Barred – Aggravated Misdemeanor.
5:07am: Staff at Sparky’s One Stop reported a gas drive off. The transaction was found to be civil.
9:21am: An officer completed a funeral escort as requested.
9:22am: As a result of a traffic stop in the 800 block of East Lincoln Way, Michael Bierl of Panora was issued a citation for Excessive Speed.
9:40am: An officer completed a funeral escort as requested.
6:07pm: As a result of a traffic stop in the 800 block of East Lincoln Way, Samantha Henderson of Jefferson was placed under arrest for an outstanding Guthrie County Bench Arrest Warrant for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.
7:17pm: A Traffic Stop was performed with a vehicle that failed to dim its headlights in the 100 Block of North Grimmell Road. While speaking with the driver and one occupant, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver admitted to marijuana being in the vehicle. During a Probable Cause Search of the vehicle the officer located a marijuana cigarette in the center console. The item was seized for lab testing. Future charges are pending testing of the seized item.
10:18pm: Sheila Madson requested an officer at 104 East Vest Street for a possible underage drinking party inside the residence. Madson met the officer at the address. The officer spoke to the owner of the residence by phone and was given permission to enter the residence and speak to the subjects inside. The officer spoke with a group of juveniles inside the residence. No signs of alcohol consumption were detected by the officers. While speaking further with
Madson, the officer noticed signs of alcohol impairment. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Sheila Rae Madson, 56 of Jefferson for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious.”
11:40pm: Courtney Stewart requested a Welfare Check on her daughter, who was possibly suicidal. The subject was at ER and the officer’s assistance was not needed.
Sunday, February 10th
6:51am: Mark Tasler requested officers to check on a male sitting outside in the snow near the 1000 Block of West Adams Street. The subject was not located by the officer.
9:26am: Brittany Wilson advised of a German Shepherd, who is always outside at 207 North Locust Street. The officers made contact with the owner. The animal was fine and has access to shelter in wanted, but chooses to be outside.
9:55am: Officers assisted the jailer and deputies with an unruly inmate at the jail.
7:45pm: Jill Hart advised she caught a stray dog at 404 East Harrison Street. The owner identified the animal by the City License Tag and called the owner to pick up the animal.
10:23pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 1000 Block of Westwood Drive.
Monday, February 11th
7:23am: Allen Kramer spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Issue with a vehicle he sold.
7:53am: Officers assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of South Cedar Street.
8:33am: An officer unlocked a running vehicle with an infant locked inside at 507 West Lincoln Way Street.
10:40am: An officer was advised of an Alarm Activation at 707 West Harrison Street.
12:18pm: A DHS Case Worker spoke with an officer in connection to a possible Sexual Assault occurring in Jefferson. The officer investigating.
2:30pm: Marty Weidman reported a dog running loose at 207 North Locust Street. The officer advised Weidman the animal has Invisible Fencing to keep it in the yard.
3:23pm: Officers assisted the Sheriff’s Office with a two-vehicle accident on 220th Street, just west of M Ave.
4:17pm: Patty Goughnour reported receiving the IRS Phone Scam. She did not release any information to the caller.
8:49pm: An officer checked 600 North Oak Street after dispatch received a 911 Hang Up Call from the residence. The officer learned a child was playing with the phone.
9:09pm: Curt Hastings reported suspicious vehicles in the 400 Block of North Vine Street. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.
********* Officers issued 11 Snow Emergency Parking Citations and towed (3) repeat offenders during this reporting period.
******** As a result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Lincoln Way on 12.25.2018 and failing to comply with a Defect Ticket, Dalton Weber was issued a citation for Violation of Financial Liability – Accident Related.
