EMS Transitional Director Lacy Brubaker (left) discusses wage rates with Supervisors
The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
The Board discussed setting ambulance employee wage rates. The proposed rates include $58,000 for the director, and the rates for emergency medical technicians (EMT) range between $32,000 to $38,000 for full-time, and for paramedics and registered nurses (RN) who can work as paramedics if needed range between $42,000 and $48,000. The Supervisors also discussed setting part-time wages at $17 per hour for EMTs and $20 per hour for paramedics and RNs, along with $4 per hour for those who are on-call.
Transitional Director Lacy Brubaker said the proposed wages were figured with the common trend of working 24-hours and then those individuals being off for the next 48-hours. However, overtime pay was not determined during the discussion. The Board also discussed the possibility of paying a volunteer firefighter a wage to drive an ambulance for transports. The Supervisors are expected to make a final decision at Thursday’s budgetary meeting.
The Board also approved the emergency management budget for the 2020 fiscal year of $33,000 for revenues and $33,808 for expenses.
