Winter weather has sure had an impact, especially on the school year for the Greene County School District.

Superintendent Tim Christensen says as of February 7th, there have been four cancelled school days, three late starts and one early dismissal due to weather complications. He explains that school districts are no longer required to makeup school days to meet state student attendance requirements, however they are required to count hours in the school day.

Due to those reasons, Christensen points out that they are adding two additional school days onto the end of the current school year. The last day of the 2018-19 school year is now Tuesday, June 4th. Seniors are not required to make up any snow days.
