The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit and run incident from Thursday morning that resulted in one person being taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

At around 7 a.m., deputies responded to a reported wreck in the 13000 block of Highway 141 near Dawson. A 2010 Dodge Charger being driven by 42-year-old April Francis of Bagley was travelling east on the highway going around 25-miles-per-hour. At that time, an unidentified white extended-cab pickup truck rear-ended her vehicle. The impact caused Francis to be pushed off the road and into the ditch, while the truck continued east on the highway.

Francis was transported to Dallas County Hospital by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services with suspected minor injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time, but the airbag did not deploy. Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $6,000. The Sheriff’s Office was unable to locate a truck matching the description of the other vehicle when they searched both Dawson and Perry, so they are asking the public to keep an eye out for a large white truck with considerable damage on its front end.
