The ACGC boys basketball team closed out regular season play Thursday night with a home matchup against the West Central Valley Wildcats. The Chargers will enter the postseason with good momentum as they secured a season sweep in a 65-42 victory over the Wildcats.

Junior Quynton Younker led all scores with 15 points while classmate Bryce Littler and sophomore Eli Kading each had eleven for the gold and black. On senior night, Noah Sargent chipped in eight and Noah Nelsen added five for ACGC. The Chargers led for the majority of the game, pulling away in the second half as they outscored the Wildcats in the final two quarters, 35-20.

Junior Jake Egger and freshman Hunter Keller each had ten points to lead all Wildcats. The Chargers finish the season at 6-15 (3-13), matching their combined win total in the program’s first two seasons. The Wildcats fall to 2-18 (0-16). This is the first single opponent in program history that the Chargers have defeated twice in the same season.

Both teams will begin their postseason paths on Monday in Stuart. The Chargers will take on Mount Ayr in the opening game and the Wildcats will square off against Panorama in the night cap. You can hear both games on the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
