Overnight ice and snowfall have impacted driving conditions Thursday morning in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, most of the roads in Greene County are partially covered with ice, while the roads in northern Dallas County are completely covered with snow and in Guthrie County the roads are either partially covered with ice or completely covered with snow and slush. The National Weather Service has extended the winter weather advisory for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties until 6pm tonight. Our primary coverage area could see as much as three additional inches of snowfall today and wind gusts as high as 40-miles-per-hour.
Motorists are urged to give plows crews plenty of room to remove snow from the roadways and drive to the conditions of the roads. Listen to the Raccoon Valley Radio Network for any cancellation and postponement information, and road condition updates during the winter season.
