A rare Wednesday afternoon contest didn’t affect the Panorama Panthers varsity girls basketball team. Class 2A’s No. 7 squad traveled to Boone County yesterday for the final West Central Activites Conference contest of the season against the Ogden Bulldogs. Behind 24 points from senior Bailey Beckman, Panorama ran away with a 67-31 victory. Senior Morgan Johnk stuffed the stat sheet for the Panthers, registering nine points, eight rebounds, seven assists, five steals, and two blocks.
Panorama girls basketball coach Dan Druivenga told Raccoon Valley Radio that his team played alright on the second night of three straight road games. “That’s the coach in me a little bit,” Druivenga said, “There are little bitty things that we have to get straightened out on our offensive (sets) in seeing things clearer. We held the ball a couple of times when we should be passing.”
Panorama opened their three-game road swing Tuesday with a 65-26 victory against West Central Valley. Weather permitting, the Panthers close their regular season schedule tonight in a nonconference tilt with the Martensdale-St Mary’s Blue Devils. Panorama’s postseason opener comes Tuesday, February 12, against the winner of Saturday’s regional opener between Madrid and Woodward-Granger.
