The Greene County girls’ basketball team is just two days away from entering Class 3A Regional tournament play. First year head coach Tyler Westhoff’s Rams are 1-20 on the season. They lost their first 17 games before a 45-30 victory on Feb. 1 in Jefferson over Saydel (Des Moines). That victory snapped a 25-game losing streak dating back to last season. Carroll is 12-8 and won the regular season contest with Greene County on Feb. 2 in Carroll by a 63-28 final.

The Greene County boys finished the regular season with a 7-15 mark. They’ve lost their last three games, all on the road, and will play Southeast Valley (Gowrie) on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in Ogden in Class 2A District tournament first round play. The Jaguars have a 6-13 record.
