The results are in, and in a show of overwhelming support, the voters in the Perry School District approved the $6.5 million bond referendum.

The measure passed, receiving 652 “Yes” votes, compared to 79 “No” votes, a percentage of 89.19% approval. The bond only required 60% in order to pass. With the referendum now approved, the planning phase for the new industrial technology facility and wrestling/multipurpose room can begin with the architecture firm UNESCO. Superintendent Clark Wicks expects construction to begin late this year, with the facilities completed before the 2020-21 school year.

Listen tomorrow to hear the initial reaction of Wicks to the bond vote passing.
