The 42nd annual Bike Ride to Rippey, or BRR Ride, was held this past Saturday, and everyone involved felt it was a big success.
The event was once again organized by the Perry Chamber of Commerce and was hosted by Hotel Pattee. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti, who was experiencing the ride for the first time this year, thought things went very smoothly, thanks mostly to the months of preparation and the cooperation of the entire Chamber. Pasutti said there were more than 500 people who pre-registered for the event, and at least 1,200 people ended up participating in the ride. She said they also had good numbers show up for the Friday and Saturday concerts, so it was encouraging to see people taking part in more than just the ride.
Hotel Pattee Owner Tom Maxwell echoed Pasutti’s assessment of BRR, adding that he was impressed by the work everyone put in. “Well, it was an absolute success! The Chamber did such a great job, Lynsi and her team (were) phenomenal. Our staff here at the hotel have went above and beyond for everything that they’ve done. So overall, great success, (it’s) been a lot of fun! Thanks to everybody in the community for supporting it. Thanks to all the riders that came, (it was a) very nice turnout. (We’re) looking forward to next year!”
The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio was also once again a part of BRR, as we broadcasted live throughout the morning, provided public address services, and played music for the festivities. Listen to this Wednesday’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program to hear from the riders of BRR themselves.
