February is Library Lovers Month, and with it the Stuart Library Foundation is hosting their sixth annual romance-tinged event, Sandy’s Sweetheart Dance.
This fundraiser was renamed in 2017 after the passing of Stuart Library Director Sandy Pollard who helped with the event’s inception. This year’s event will include the return of a baked potato bar, which Library Director Lisa Sherman says was very successful last year, as well as food catered by Los Altos Mexican Restaurant and various other community members. While this dance raises funds for the Foundation – which funds books, programs, and other purchases for the library – Sherman says this is a great event for the community, “Now the Foundation puts this on every year, I think this is our sixth year, and they put on a great show with local talent, the food is just outstanding and the donations of food and other services are just truly what our community enjoys.”
Sherman adds there will be a special surprise for attendees. Sandy’s Sweetheart Dance takes place Saturday, February 9th at the Saints Center for Culture & the Arts with doors opening at 6 p.m., buffet at 6:30, and the dance starting at 7. Tickets are $30 per person or $200 for a table and can be purchased at the library and First State Bank.
