A mini-conference tournament is what awaits the Panorama Panthers boys basketball team when the postseason begins later this month. The Panthers have known for the past two weeks that their district grouping featured West Central Activities Conference members the AC/GC Chargers, the Des Moines Christian Lions, the West Central Valley Wildcats, and the Woodward-Granger Hawks. The Mount Ayr Raiders are the last team apart of Class 2A District 13. Earlier this week, the Raccoon Valley Radio Network asked Panorama varsity basketball coach Nick Peasley his thoughts on the district assignment. “The district is obviously a very good district,” Peasley said, “It stinks that (the Iowa High School Athletic Association) put all us (WCAC) conference teams in that same district but its a very winnable district for any team. Should be a fun run.”

Weather permitting, the first round of the Class 2A tournament takes place Monday, February 11. The district semifinal round is on Thursday, February 14, and the district championship game is on Tuesday, February 19, and the substate final game takes place on Saturday, February 23. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will share information on Panorama’s first-round playoff opponent once it’s made official. The Panorama Panther varsity basketball teams are back on the hardwood tonight in a road West Central Activities Conference doubleheader against the Interstate 35 Roadrunners.
