The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union issued the final two classes of postseason basketball brackets yesterday afternoon, and the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity squad knows their path to the state tournament. ADM’s 11-7 overall record through 18 games drew a home game in the Class 4A Region 8 bracket, hosting the Carlisle Wildcats on Wednesday, February 13. Weather permitting, the pair of Raccoon River Conference members will square off twice during an eight-day time frame with Carlisle hosting ADM in their league season finale this Tuesday. ADM’s initial meeting against Carlisle saw the Tigers run away with a 67-37 victory in Adel on December 11. Should ADM win the regional opener, their reward is a road semifinal test against the bracket’s top seed, No. 4 ranked Grinnell, on Saturday, February 16. The regional final takes place Tuesday, February 19 at the gymnasium of the highest remaining seed. The Knoxville Panthers and the Norwalk Warriors square off in the region’s second first-round matchup on February 13 with the winner visiting the Pella Little Dutch that weekend.
