The regular season is winding down for the ACGC boys basketball team. The Chargers enter their final week of pre-postseason play tonight at Woodward Academy.
The Knights enter tonight’s contest directly ahead of ACGC in the West Central Activities Conference standings. The Knights’ lone win in 2019 came at home with an 84-19 thumping against the West Central Valley Wildcats. Through 13 games of recorded statistics, sophomore Davion Wilson leads the team with an average of just under 14 points per game. Junior Devontae Gansen is grabbing roughly 8.5 rebounds per game for the Knights as well.
The Chargers are 0-4 all-time against Woodward Academy, losing each of their last three by double digits. Tonight could be a historic night for ACGC junior Bryce Littler, who needs just 13 points to break Caden Wardyn’s record for most points in a single season. Head coach Lance Kading talks about Littler’s improvements on the court this year. “He’s just more aggressive. He’s a heck of a player and he’s a handful for about any team we face. They know where the shots are going to come from and he still gets in the lane and gets good looks and gets fouled.”
Sophomores Lucas Marsh and Eli Kading are also just 10 and 14 points respectively from reaching 100 on the season. It would be the first time in program history that six players would reach the century mark in a single season. You can hear the game live on KKRF2 and RaccoonValleyRadio.com. Pregame begins around 7:15pm, with tipoff set for 7:30 from Woodward-Granger Middle School in Woodward.
