Everyone is invited to a fundraiser tonight for the Churdan Public Library.

A potato bar supper will be served from 5 to 7pm at the Paton-Churdan School building prior to the home varsity basketball games against Collins-Maxwell. The menu includes a baked potato with several toppings, along with maid-rite sandwiches, relishes and bars for a $5 suggested donation. All proceeds will go toward the library’s programming. Library Director Shari Minnihan says now that their building expansion project is almost complete, they are putting their fundraising focus back on programming.

“We do a lot of programming throughout the year, a lot for children, but from adults, and middle schoolers, and high schoolers. We’re always looking for ways to raise money so we can bring in good programming for the kids and supplies. Sometimes we’re bringing in speakers and that kind of thing.”

Minnihan invites everyone to check out the updated look of the library, following their 1,000-square-foot expansion. She adds that they are waiting for final shelving units to be installed and she is anticipating a public open house in March. Pictures of the new space can be found below.

There’s no pre-registration needed for tonight’s fundraiser event.
