Greene County High School sent four groups to Perry this past weekend for District Large Group Speech Contest.

The Rams did well, having three of their four groups earn a Division I-rating to advance onto the state contest this weekend. The groups going on include: One Act Play, Radio Broadcasting and a Group Improv team. Greene County also had two additional groups qualify for state last week that didn’t compete in the actual contest day, due to scheduling conflicts. Speech Coach Kelley Gray says Reader’s Theater and Choral Reading will also compete this weekend.

Paton-Churdan will also send one entry to state this weekend with their Musical Theater group, which also earned a Division I-rating at the district level.

This weekend’s state contest will take place at West Des Moines Valley High School.
