(Update 9:10 a.m.) A large fourth-quarter scoring output from the opposition led to the latest setback for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity girls basketball team (11-7 overall; 7-3 RRC). Behind a 22 point fourth quarter, the Winterset Huskies turned a one-point quarter deficit into a seven-point victory, 54-47. ADM held a 33-32 advantage entering the fourth quarter before the Huskies outscored the Tigers, 22-14, in the game’s final eight minutes. Winterset accounted for 22 points in the paint, adding 14 made free throws in the win. Senior Madison Wauters poured in 24 points while senior Mia Olson added 18 to lead the Huskies. Senior Emma Jacobsen led ADM with 11 points, while junior Abbie Hlas added 10 in the setback. The loss drops ADM’s overall record to 11-7. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network has learned that tonight’s Raccoon River Conference doubleheader between ADM and Carroll has been postponed due to forecasted fridged temperatures across the region. The teams will make up the twin bill on Monday, February 4. Weather permitting, ADM will return to the court Monday night in Adel against Raccoon River Conference member Bondurant-Farrar.
