(Update 9:05 a.m.) A pair of returning first-team All-Raccoon River Conference performers achieved the same career milestone last night against the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys basketball team. Twenty two-point performances each from guards Casey Kleemeier and Easton Darling helped the Winterset Huskies boys basketball team upended ADM, 70-62, Monday night in Adel. Both players entered Winterset’s 1,000 point club last night, becoming the second and third members all time to reach the milestone. Darling, who needed 14 points to reach a thousand, drained the milestone basket on a game-tying three-point shot right before halftime. Kleemeier, who was 18 points shy of 1K entering last night, broke the threshold with a contested layup late in the third quarter. ADM countered with a pair of 20 point performances from senior Koby Hardcastle and junior Jaxson Milsap. The duo combined for 10 made treys in the setback. The loss drops ADM’s overall record to 8-7. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network has learned that tonight’s Raccoon River Conference doubleheader between ADM and Carroll has been postponed due to forecasted fridged temperatures across the region. The teams will make up the twin bill on Monday, February 4, with a varsity girls game starting around 6 p.m. and the boys’ contest to follow.
