Greene County and Paton-Churdan will be on the road next month when girls’ basketball regional tournament play begins. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released postseason pairings late last week.

The Rams have been assigned to Class 3A Region 2 and will open the postseason on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Carroll High School vs. the Tigers, who dropped a class this year from 4A. Coach Tyler Westhoff’s Rams enter this week without a victory this season (0-16) and the Rams play a regular season game on Saturday at Carroll to cap off a four-game week.

Other teams in 3A Region 2 include number 11 Roland-Story (Story City), Humboldt, Kuemper Catholic (Carroll), Southeast Valley (Gowrie), Pocahontas Area, and fourth ranked Clear Lake.

P-C goes to Ankeny Christian on Thursday, Feb. 7 to begin play in 1A Region 7. That winner plays Colo-Nesco in Colo on Feb. 12. Other teams in the region include Collins-Maxwell, Grand View Christian (Des Moines), Baxter, Orient-Macksburg, Fremont Mills, East Mills, Griswold, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Audubon, and CAM (Anita).
