Swan Antics Ribbon Cutting 1

The Perry Chamber of Commerce hosted its first ribbon cutting of 2019 on Friday, setting up what’s already looking to be a busy year of celebrations.

The event was held to welcome Swan Antics to downtown Perry and to the Chamber, and many people from the community and local businesses piled in to celebrate. After a social time with a free lunch provided, owner Alma Swanson took up the giant scissors and cut the ceremonial ribbon. She then thanked everyone for coming and briefly described what Swan Antics offers, which includes antiques and other repurposed items.

The ribbon cutting was the first of three taking place this month, with the other two happening next week. On Wednesday, the Chamber will host an event at Osmundson Manufacturing at 9 a.m. The time has been changed from what it was originally, and it will celebrate new owner Heather Bruce as well as the business joining the Chamber. The following day, there will be a ribbon cutting at Ben’s Five and Dime at 11 a.m. to celebrate new owner Andrea Tunink.
