The UnityPoint Clinic in the Greene County Medical Center will be changing its name to Greene County Family Medicine Clinic later this year.

The transition will be official effective April 1st under medical center leadership and ownership. The medical center has had a partnership with UnityPoint Clinic since 2014. The change was made as the next step in doing what was necessary to positively impact patients, the medical center and the community with the ever-changing healthcare climate.

Other than the name and leadership change in April, there will be very little else that will change. All providers will remain the same with Dr. Thomas Fagg, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners Sara Fleecs, Jen Pundenz and Diana Smith staying on. The medical center has also hired two additional providers with general surgeon Dr. Josh Smith, who will start March 1st, and pediatrician Dr. Holly Van de Voort, who will start on April 1st.

CEO Carl Behne stated “As we maintain the current slate of providers, the public can rest assured that care at the clinic will not be compromised.” He continued, “We have an excellent working relationship with the providers of UnityPoint Clinic who see this as a positive move for them and their patients.”

The changeover in no way changes or impacts the 30 plus year relationship the medical center has as an affiliate of UnityPoint Health.
