Women interested in learning about beef cattle management have less than a week to register for a new workshop series hosted by Guthrie County Extension and Outreach.
Boots in the Barn is a four-part series designed to teach women about the basics of beef herd management. Topics that will be discussed include farm management; pasture management and nutrition; health, production and calving management; and feedlot management. ISU Extension Beef Specialist Erika Lundy is one of the speakers and shares what she’s excited for during this workshop, “We’ve intended to keep this kind of small group and very informal and it tends to be well received kind of atmosphere that we build. And so it’s really great to get a feel for what questions and challenges and successes are out there in the beef industry, so it’s a great opportunity to kind of network and learn something new as well.”
Registration is $25 which includes all four sessions that take place February 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Extension office. Attendees are not required to attend all sessions, and deadline to register is January 30th.
