The South Hamilton (Jewell) basketball teams won make up games over Greene County in Jefferson last night. The girls’ final was 29-20 and the boys’ game finished at 75-48. SH is 4-11 on the girls’ season and 3-7 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference games, while the Rams are 0-10 in the league and 0-15 overall. On the boys’ side, the Hawks are ranked fifth in 2A and stand at 13-1 and 9-1. The Rams have lost eight of nine and are 5-11 and 3-7.

The SH girls led 15-5 after one quarter and scored just 14 points the rest of the way, but it was enough to win. They had eight points from both Emma Lewis and Brooklyn George. The Rams had sixt points from Izzy Bravard, five by Kassie Lamoureux, and four from Brianna Habben.

A 16-0 first half run by SH punt them in control of the boys’ game, which they led 32-21 at intermission. The lead grew to as many as 31 points in the fourth quarter until the reserves finished it out. Five SH played scored 10 or more points with 20 from Logan Peters and 15 by Conner Hill. Greene County had 23 from Trey Hinote, all of which came in the first three quarters.
