Josie Bousman

The final piece of the puzzle in the case of the death of 16-year-old Sabrina Ray of Perry is about to fall into place, as the last defendant is set to have a plea hearing soon.

According to court documents, 22-year-old Josie Bousman, the adoptive cousin of Sabrina, has reached a plea agreement with the state. Her hearing will be held on Friday, February 1st at 1:30 p.m. at the Dallas County Courthouse. Bousman had previously agreed to testify against the other four defendants in the case, so her trial was delayed until after the others. With each of the four reaching plea agreements of their own and being sentenced for their crimes, Bousman will now face Fifth Judicial Court Judge Terry Rickers to enter what’s expected to be a guilty plea.

She is being charged on five counts, including: three counts of aiding and abetting first degree kidnapping, a class A felony; one count of aiding and abetting child endangerment resulting in death, a class B felony; and one count of obstructing prosecution or defense, an aggravated misdemeanor. It’s unknown at this time what the terms of her plea agreement are. Bousman was arrested on May 31, 2017 for her connection to the May 12th death of Sabrina, who was found in the home of her adoptive parents, Marc and Misty Ray of Perry. Marc and Misty were recently sentenced to 80 years and life in prison, respectively, for their involvement in the events leading to Sabrina’s death, ruled to be caused by severe malnutrition. The other two suspects, Marc and Misty’s son Justin Ray and Misty’s mother Carla Bousman, were sentenced to 10 and 20 years in prison, respectively.
