A winter storm warning has been issued for the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
According to the National Weather Service, Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties are under a winter storm warning until 6am Wednesday. Hazards with the warning include freezing drizzle, which could result in as much as 0.2-inch of accumulated ice on the roadways and heavy snowfall at times throughout the day and into the overnight tonight. Some areas could see as much as six-inches of snowfall. Wind gusts are expected to increase throughout the day, causing blowing and drifting snow on the roadways.
Motorists are reminded to drive to the conditions of the roads and if you encounter snow plows on the roads, give them plenty of room to work and don’t crowd the plow. For winter weather coverage, as well as cancellation and delay information, listen to the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
