A two vehicle wreck in Perry Monday afternoon sent a Jefferson man to the hospital with suspected minor injuries.

The Perry Police Department reports, at around 4:30 p.m. Monday, a 1998 Toyota van driven by 56-year-old Troy Anderson of Perry was travelling northbound on 1st Street. As he approached the intersection of Park Street, a 2012 Chevy Traverse driven by 68-year-old Patrick Griffin of Jefferson was travelling westbound and ran the stop sign. Griffin’s vehicle struck Anderson’s on the front passenger-side door, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. Griffin was transported to Dallas County Hospital with complaints of back pain, but the injuries did not appear to be serious. Anderson was unharmed.

Around $6,000 in damage was sustained by both vehicles, and Griffin was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
