A tentative plea deal has been reached for a Jefferson man who is accused of sexually abusing his sister.
According to court documents, both the prosecution and the defense made a plea agreement for 21-year-old Noah Exline, who is accused of sexually abusing his sister Paige Exline seven times in a three year period, from ages 9 to 12. Court documents show that if Exline agrees to enter a guilty plea to the amended charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for indecent contact with a child, the state will dismiss all other charges. Court documents also show that both parties have jointly agreed to recommend a suspended two-year prison sentence and recommend a three-year probation period with the Iowa Department of Corrections, along with paying fines and other court related costs.
Exline was originally charged with seven Class B Felonies for second degree sexual abuse. His sister Paige was one of the two victims that died in a house fire in Guthrie Center in May of 2017. Noah’s step-brother, Patrick Thompson, was found guilty by a jury on October 8th for murdering Paige and her cousin Shakiah Cockerham. Noah’s father, James Exline, is serving 75 years in prison for sexually abusing Paige before her death.
Court records show that a plea hearing has been scheduled for Noah at the Greene County Courthouse on February 4th. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
