An early week nonconference doubleheader produced a pair of wins Monday night for the Panorama Panthers varsity basketball teams. The Nodaway Valley Wolverines made the trip from Greenfield to Panora for the makeup twin bill against the Panthers. The Panorama girls basketball team (14-1 overall) improved to 14-1 on the season with a 68-42 victory over Nodaway Valley. The Panthers jumped out to a 14-1 first quarter lead and led 45-21 at intermission. The senior duo of Morgan Johnk (22 points) and Bailey Beckman (18 points) combined to score 40 points in the win. The Panorama boys basketball team (7-8 overall) is closing in on a .500 record with their second straight win. Senior Gracen Welberg dropped a game-high 21 points to help Panorama to 64-49 victory over the Wolverines. Panorama led 26-20 at halftime and rattled off a 22-9 third-quarter scoring run in the win. Both Panorama basketball teams have tonight off as they prepare for Friday’s West Central Activities Conference doubleheader against the Earlham Cardinals.
