The new year hasn’t treated the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys basketball team (7-6 overall; 5-3 RRC) well thus far. After escaping Bondurant with a one-point win in the 2019 opener on January 4, ADM has suffered four straight losses. A recent area of concern for the squad is their fourth-quarter scoring output. Last week, the Tigers amassed 10 total points in the final quarter in losses to Dallas Center-Grimes and Ballard. ADM held a 34-26 advantage over the Mustangs in Adel last Tuesday but an eight-point scoring output coupled with allowing 17 points defensively led to DCG topping ADM, 43-42. The Tigers held a 48-42 lead over the Ballard Bombers in Huxley Thursday night before a two-point fourth quarter yield saw the two Raccoon River Conference members head to overtime. ADM scored 11 points over two four-minute overtime periods as the Bombers prevailed over the Tigers, 63-61. The recent slide has ADM’s overall record at 7-6, and the Tigers are tied with Ballard for second place in the Raccoon River Conference standings at 5-3. The ADM Tiger boys basketball team looks to end their current losing skid Tuesday night at home against the Winterset Huskies in Raccoon River Conference play.
