The vote on the bond referendum for the proposed industrial technology facility and wrestling/multipurpose room for the Perry School District is rapidly approaching, and the public has several more chances to learn more about it before the election on February 5th.
Superintendent Clark Wicks has been leading several educational meetings in the past weeks, and the next one is Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Perry Performing Arts Center. Wicks says there’s been a solid response from the public at each of the meetings so far, and he’s hopeful the momentum can continue. “There’s a lot of good energy with our community, (and) the people that I’ve talked to. And there’s been some good questions, so I think overall (it’s been) positive. But everybody that is interested in this cannot be complacent, we need to make sure we vote February 5th.”
Wicks adds, people can vote early between now and February 4th at the Dallas County Auditor’s Office, which is located at the corner of Rapids and 10th streets in Adel, during their normal business hours. Those voting on Election Day will do so at the McCreary Community Building, regardless of what Perry precinct they live in.
