The Greene County Board of Supervisors met for the second time this week on Thursday.
During open forum, County Attorney Thomas Laehn addressed the Board. He said that the courthouse security committee is going to hold optional training opportunities for courthouse and secondary roads department employees throughout the year and he presented a draft of the 28E agreement of the career academy with the Greene County School District. The agreement hasn’t been finalized and negotiations with the school district are still ongoing.
Also during open forum, Informational Technology Administrator Michelle Fields updated the Board on her increased expenses request for the 2020 fiscal year. She notified the Board that she will be asking for $130,000 to digitize the servers and upgrade the documentation software in the county recorder’s office.
The Board then went into closed session to discuss security enhancement recommendations from the courthouse security committee. Following the closed session, the meeting resumed in open session with the Board accepting the report. Finally, the Board heard a report from representatives with the Bell Tower Festival and a $5,000 2020 fiscal year funding request. The Board took no action on the request.
