Now that it’s 2019, the City of Perry has officially begun the celebration of its 150th birthday. The sesquicentennial celebration is scheduled for the weekend after the Fourth of July, but before then are a few fundraisers.
The first event is coming soon, and Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti says it is inspired by the Friends of the Perry Public Library. “We are going to have a trivia night, so similar to what the Friends of the Library do on a fairly regular basis throughout the year. We’ve got some folks from that team helping us out with this one to put on a historical-themed Sesquicentennial Trivia Night. So it’s always fun when they do that, and so we’re just kind of taking that opportunity to have a kickoff to our fundraising efforts.”
The cost to participate in the trivia contest is $10 per person, and teams can have up to eight people. The event will be held Thursday, January 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the gallery at La Poste. Preregistration is not required, but can be done at the Chamber office or the Perry Public Library.
