Jefferson Matters: Main Street invites the public to a community workshop for an upcoming downtown area project.

JMMS Tower View Team Chair Deb McGinn says a community workshop will be held later this month on their new public art project on the north alleyway entrance in downtown Jefferson.

“This is called Arch Alley. And this is our new alley renovation project for that space. The artist David Williamson will be there and so you can come and learn about all what’s going to happen in the alley (and) how you can become a part of the arch.”

The project is anticipated to be assembled this year. There are three arches that will be displayed along the alleyway, using the arch designs inspired from the architecture of the existing downtown buildings. Two of the arches have been designed by JMMS’s Tower View Team and the other was from students in the Paton-Churdan and Greene County School Districts.

The workshop take place at 2 and 7pm on Thursday, January 31st at Jefferson City Hall.
