It may only be January, but the children’s department of the Jefferson Public Library has a lot for kids to do this month to earn prizes.
Kids can participate in a snowball toss contest, where each week kids can throw snowballs into a snow fort for points. The player with the most points at the end of the week will win a prize. Another activity kids can do is a look and find. Children’s Librarian Terry Clark describes the details of the Winter Wonderland Look and Find.
“It’s a blizzard and everything’s white. You’re looking for things that are hidden in this whole background, this white background. So they’ll use clues to find all of the hidden items and then they get to enter the drawing for that one.”
A final prize drawing this month is a snowball guessing jar. Simply guess how many snowballs you think are in the guessing jar and the child that comes the closest to the correct answer without going over will win a prize.
You can find these fun activities and more in the children’s department of the library.
