The Perry Chamber of Commerce held their monthly Chamber Coffee event Friday morning, and the host on this occasion was the DMACC VanKirk Career Academy.

Attendees filled the entryway of the facility, taking part in networking opportunities and free refreshments. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti then gathered everyone together and introduced Eddie Diaz, the Director of the Center. Diaz went over the programs offered at the career academy, including how they work with area students to give them a leg up on life after high school. He then introduced Barb South, the College Program Advisor, who went into greater detail. After that, Diaz introduced the rest of his staff that was in attendance.

Following the presentation, the group went around in a circle with everyone introducing themselves and who they represent. Some also mentioned upcoming events and activities their business or organization is working on. The Chamber holds the coffee events on the second Friday of every month, each time at a different location around Perry. Pasutti says they’re great ways for people to meet others from the community and learn about what’s going on in the City.
