A milestone win Thursday night put Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers senior wrestler Andrew Flora in rare company. Flora notched his 150th career varsity victory last night in Norwalk in a dual against the host Warriors. He notched the win by second period technical (19-2;4:42) against Austin Brenizer. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke with ADM head wrestling coach Chris Hatchitt Thursday morning about Flora’s impending achievement and shared it was well deserved. “(It’s an) amazing accomplishment for him to have that level of success,” Hatchitt said, “Kudos to him, he’s worked really hard, and deserves all the accolades for that.”
Flora took a forfeit win against the Grinnell Tigers to open the night. Flora joins ADM graduate Zach Johnston and Keegan Mumma as the only Tiger grapplers in the 150 win club. Mumma holds the all-time career wins record with 160 victories. The ADM wrestling team topped Grinnell (38-27) but fell against the Norwalk Warriors (59-14). The ADM Tiger wrestling team is gearing up for this weekend’s ADM Tiger Varsity Wrestling tournament. First matches start around 10 a.m. from ADM’s North Gym.
