The ACGC wrestling team certainly used the home mats to their advantage Thursday night as they picked up three more dual victories in the season’s final home quadrangular.
The Chargers began the evening with their first shutout victory of the year, defeating Woodbine 67-0. Of the twelve weight classes represented, the Chargers came away with six pin falls, four forfeits, and two decision victories. The gold and black then took down Tri Center 57-24 and edged Riverside 45-30 to improve to 13-3 on the year.
Individuals who went undefeated on the night by fall, forfeit, or decision include: Seth Danker (113), Blaine Beeler (120), Gunnar Larsen (132), Trevin Suhr (138), Gabe Rowley (145), Gavin Cornelison (170), Ben Kingery (195/220), and Gage Buttler (220/285). Beeler was the lone Charger to pick up all three wins by fall, with the fastest one coming against Riverside’s Mike Casson in 34 seconds. The fastest pin of the night went to Cornelison, who dispatched Tri-Center’s Luke Hundtofte in 22 seconds.
It was also senior night for Kingery, Rowley, Beeler, and Easton Benson who was unable to participate due to injury. The Chargers will head north to Carroll tomorrow for the Kuemper Catholic Duals. Other participating schools include: Audubon, Johnston JV, Missouri Valley, and Storm Lake. First grapples begin at 9am from Kuemper Catholic High School.
