The ACGC basketball team will make their longest conference road trip in program history when they trek southeast of Des Moines for a West Central Activities Conference matchup with the Pleasantville Trojans.
On the girls side, the Chargers secured their first victory of 2019 with a 54-42 win at Madrid on Tuesday. Sophomore shooting guard Kylie Young, who had been struggling to find the scoring column coming into the new year, is coming off a career high 17 points against the Tigers. It was a good game all around for the Young household, as sister Kennedy finished the night with a double-double 11 points and 13 rebounds.
As for the Trojans, Pleasantville has an above 500 record overall but they’ve only secured two conference victories. The Trojans have a balanced attack, with four players averaging between five and eight points per game. The contest will also feature two of the top three rebounding squads in the conference.
The boys matchup should also be competitive, as both teams are looking to get out of the bottom half of the conference. The matchup will feature a quartet of talented juniors, with a pair leading each team. Pleasantville’s Teron Mount and Tagen Douma are both averaging double digits in scoring, while ACGC’s Bryce Littler and Quynton Younker lead in scoring for the gold and black.
You can hear the game live on KKRF2 and RaccoonValleyRadio.com with pregame coverage set for 5:45 from Pleasantville.
