A Woodward man recently won big through an Iowa Lottery scratch game ticket he purchased in Perry.

Gerald Thornburgh won a $100,000 grand prize in the “Treasure Tree” scratch game, the fifth of seven top prizes available with the holiday-themed game to be claimed to date. According to the Iowa Lottery, Thornburgh purchased the winning ticket at the Kum & Go located on Highway 141 in Perry. He claimed his prize on January 3rd at the lottery headquarters in Clive.

Thornburgh is now the second Dallas County resident to win a six-figure or above prize through the Iowa Lottery in the last three months. In November, Redfield resident Lerynne West took home a one-time lump-sum of $140.6 million when she won a share of the $600 million Powerball grand prize.
