The Jefferson Elks are hosting two upcoming events this month.

This Sunday is a kick-off to a new series of Open Mic events at the Elks Lodge. It will take place from 2 to 6pm and it is open to anyone. Organizer John Sumner says any instrumental or vocal act, poetry recital or even those working on getting over stage fright can use the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of an audience. Another event the Elks are hosting is live musical entertainment on Saturday, January 19th. The Salt Creek Band will be performing at 7pm. The four piece band plays 80s, 90s and some new country music and will include a mix of classic rock. No pre-registration is necessary for the free concert.
