Officials at Adel-Desoto-Minburn Community Schools announced yesterday they’ve filled the final varsity coaching position for the 2018-19 school year. ADM Activites Director Reece Satre shared a press release with the public Monday morning stating Jodi Doty has accepted the position of ADM head varisty softball coach. A Urbandale High School graduate, Doty previously played collegiate softball at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs and for the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Since her playing career ended, Doty’s stayed heavily involved in the sport as an umpire. She was selected to referee the Iowa High School State Softball Tournament in both 2016 and 2018. Doty takes over the ADM Softball program from Rick Dillinger. Dillinger accepted an assistant coaching position on the University of Iowa softball staff in late July. He recorded 142 wins in five seasons at ADM, leading the Tigers to the Class 4A State Championship game last summer.
