Grant applications to the Dallas County Foundation are due in less than a month, but the Foundation reminds would-be grantees that they are having a workshop soon to help them with the process.

The free workshop will be held Wednesday, January 9th at the Adel Public Library, and attendees can learn about the requirements the Foundation looks for in the grant applications. Potential applicants can include nonprofit organizations and units of government, and the grants are usually awarded for purposes that include health and human services, arts and culture, youth development, education, recreation and environment, and community betterment. Awards range from $500 to $20,000 per grant, and it’s anticipated the Foundation will give over $100,000 this year.

While there is no cost to attend the grant workshop this Wednesday, online registration is required. A free lunch will be served to all attendees. The grant request deadline in February 1st, and applications can be mailed directly to the Dallas County Foundation or dropped off at Raccoon Valley Bank in Perry or Lincoln Savings Bank in Adel.
