The next Storytime unit at the Perry Public Library is coming soon, and this month has a western motif.

Children’s Librarian Suzanne Kestel says the program is called “Roundup at the Library,” and it will include different activities for each of the three age groups. The Toddler Time session for kids age 18-months through 3-years-old will meet Tuesday, January 8th. The Fours, Fives, and Families group will come together on Wednesday, January 9th. Finally, those from birth through 18-months, or the Wee Wonders, will have their own Storytime on Thursday, January 10th. Each session will begin at 10:15 a.m. and will be held in the large meeting room.

Kestel says in addition to receiving a free cowboy hat and snack, there are other fun activities planned for attendees. “We will be doing a horse puppet, and I know we’ve got a couple games that are western-related. One craft that’s kind of cool, it uses different colors of tissue paper. And it’s a really pretty sunset, and then you see the silhouette of a cowboy on a horse in front of it. So that will be beautiful, I’m sure, by each of these little hands that make it!”

There is no cost to attend the Perry Library’s Storytime sessions, though registration is required. To sign up, stop in or call the Perry Library at 515-465-3569.
