Area kids can spend winter break getting their hands dirty at Springbrook State Park.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources have partnered with Guthrie County Extension and Outreach to host “Schools Out! Day Camps.” Their next day camp called “Green Power” will dive into different renewable energy options available in Iowa and kids will learn fun winter survival skills. Green Power will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday at the visitor center, and this day camp is open to kids in kindergarten through sixth grade. Cost is $5 and snacks and supplies will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring a sack lunch. To register for the day camp click here.
