The public is reminded of a fundraising drive for the Guthrie County Veterans Memorial.

The memorial committee has planned to erect black granite walls beside the current memorial outside the Guthrie County Courthouse that list veterans of all branches of the armed forces from the County. The committee received more than 750 submitted names at a price of $30 each. The committee has enough funds for three walls but would like to erect a fourth wall to include all the names and any additions in the future. The committee is asking for an additional $13,000 to complete the project. Donations can be mailed to Trudi Tam at 2692 Wagon Road, Stuart, IA 50250.
