It’s the final game of the 2018 portion of the high school boys’ basketball schedule for Greene County and the Rams host non-conference opponent Boone tonight. The game is in the middle school gym in Jefferson and the varsity contest will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. There’s a freshman game at 4:30 p.m., followed by a JV contest, with the varsity game scheduled for around 7:30 p.m.

Both teams are one game under the .500 mark with the Rams at 4-5 and Toreadors 3-4. Senior Trey Hinote missed most of four games earlier this season due to a severely sprained right ankle. He injured the left ankle at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Tuesday night late in the third quarter of a 77-69 loss to Nevada. Hinote is hoping to play tonight. He told Raccoon Valley Radio he’s taking contrast baths for the ankles a couple of times a day. He did practice lightly on Thursday. “I’m going to tape and brace before the game. Last time I only taped it and that didn’t work out too well.”

Prior to the varsity game, Hinote will be honored for topping the 1,000 career point mark, which he did on Monday during an 80-70 road loss at Woodward-Granger.
